It's fluff, unadulterated fluff, written in response to a dark mood that I needed to lift quickly. It's not 'me', it doesn't represent me or my view of the world. Sure, it's fun, and yes, it'll pass some time in a not-so unpleasurable way, but it's not something I'd want 'out there' and attached to me. I wouldn't be upset if nobody read it, or if someone said 'that's the worst piece of shit I've ever had the misfortune to lay my eyes upon'. If you find some pleasure from it, then good, I'm glad, but it really is nothing...it has less substance than a cup full of hot air

So, for those reasons above, I won't suffer this abomination on the general populace. Anyone infected here, you do so at your own risk.

This also part of an ongoing battle I'm having with myself and the many alter egos I write under.

thanks for the answer. i sort of suspected it was something along those lines. i'm glad you're sharing it with us though, fluff is fun sometimes.

i'm trying to keep an eye on the "moejoe vs. alter ego" battle as well for my own purely selfish reasons.

The battle is quite easy to understand, although one that can't be won so easily.

Sometimes I look at what's being published, and sometimes I see how much money some people are making, and sometimes I think "I could write that stuff in my sleep" and sometimes I actually resolve to do just that and look for another agent and consign my life to the publishing mill.

And then I see the sky change colour or I hear a particularly stirring piece of music and I forget all about that sometimes me and his sometimes ideas and I have to write because I want to convey a moment in time, a feeling, a joy or a sorrow. And although that feeds the soul, it doesn't feed anything more.

So, the war continues. It's an old war. Art vs commerce. Integrity vs bank balance. Servant vs Master.

I doubt it will ever be won.

I killed my website after realising I don't actually read blogs on any kind of regular basis, so why bother having a blog? Is it just another of those 'things' we're supposed to do to gain readers? Another 'marketing' tool (that word makes me sick to the stomach)? Why not just have a neat static page with the writing that is offered, what's coming next and maybe a twitter feed? Now that's something I wouldn't mind checking back on from time to time. In the face of twitter and face book, the blog seems somewhat antiquated anyway.

In any case, an update on the craptacular thriller I'm writing. It'll be available Monday, sometime, and I'll send it through PM to anybody who wants to waste their time on it (I wouldn't myself, I'd just burn the damn thing and have done with it, that is if you could burn digital things. At my end I'll be destroying the story as soon as possible and forgetting that I ever wrote it).

At the moment I'm engrossed in writing a tale about two elderly residents at a nursing home about to embark on one last night of fun, it's called "This is Paradise"
