At the command prompt type cd\ and hit enter to get to a C prompt. Them run your tracert.

What a nice way to wake up on a Monday morning... some ill-disposed people has been DoS-attacking our main server for the past few days... and last night they multiplied their efforts.

We did some precautions and also notified our datacenter. I hope your browsing experience has already improved.

Assuming you have tracert.exe on your PC; you may need to change to the folder where it resides first.

It's under c:\windows\system32 on my machine -

cd \windows\system32
tracert www.mobileread.com

(As I'm paranoid, I post the response without including the first few hops which identify my local network route.)

No enemies as far as I am aware of. It began out of nowhere about a week ago, too weak to be a problem, but then last night the traffic increased, partially exhausting our bandwidth.

I am back to the "instant" loading. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone else remember "dial up"? How on earth did we ever deal with that? Seemed perfectly normal to me.........until I changed to cable modem....

Yep since I kept getting 'timed out' last night I finally googled it and then went looking for the little bugger.

Its exactly where yours is. Will do more research to find the problem. I'm running vista but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. Thanks for the help
