![]() Nope, I was not able to get it to "read" a note for the dictionary. I created the note and saved it and double-clicked on a word - the dictionary did not come up. Darn, that would have made for a nice "spell-check feature." |

I know a people wanted a dictionary included in the reader. Just curious as to how many people actually use it now that Sony has put one in.

The problem was that the dictionary the Rocket used was pathetic. It pretty much only had definitions for words we already new. For truly unusual words, it was useless. (It used Random House Webster's Concise Dictionary). That was probably due, in large part, to the memory restrictions. I would just like to find out if the dictionary on the sony is a "real" dictionary. |

Yes, the Sony dictionary is very much a "real" dictionary. It's not let me down yet with any of the extremely obscure words that I've looked up in the 19th century novels which are my main reading interest.

--double tap a word so the dictionary comes up --click the definition box so the dictionary enlarges to fill the screen with the extended definition --click the keyboard icon in lower right corner --type in any word you want Verified this on my prs-600. Not the easiest thing in the world but the full dictionary is accessible in a pinch. As neat as these readers are, there's just so much room for improvement, and I'm looking forward to how much more advanced they will be even just a couple of years from now. |
