Ok - I just now registered my Gift Certificate. I didn't realize I had to register it. I thought purchasing it was the registering of it.

The Beginning:
When I first purchased a Gift Certificate, I sent off an email to them AFTER I received confirmation of my purchase. The instructions were to email the receipt. That's where I thought by doing so that I was actually registering. Anyway, just now I registered the Gift Certificate.

It now shows "Registered Gift Certificate" and "Purchased Gift Certificate." I'm still not seeing $60 in "Rewards." Do I need to email them yet again, or is it a matter of waiting another 24 hours before the $60 shows up in "Rewards"?

You're not alone. I bought a $30 GC and so far no Reward Dollars.

I forwarded my receipt to the proper email address as soon as I got it, just like I always have.

Hello MobileReaders,

BooksOnBoard has recently updated our Rewards Dollars and Gift Certificate Programs. We received feedback from our customers suggesting that they would prefer that they not be required to forward receipts to claim Rewards Dollars. Rewards Dollars are now automatically credited to customer accounts as soon as they complete the transaction (For special promotions such as this past weekend we still require forwarding of receipts so that Gift Certificate purchases may be matched with Rewards Dollars, however, we are examining ways to automate this also).

We have separated our Gift Certificate Dollars from Rewards Dollars so that Gift Certificate purchasers may earn Rewards Dollars on their purchases.
You may apply both Rewards Dollars and Gift Certificate Dollars to the same purchase, and you may also apply multiple Gift Certificates to the same purchase. Our web team has been working hard.

We are happy to have any suggestions any of you might have for further improvements to our Rewards Dollars/Gift Certificate Programs. Please send them directly to me and I will respond as quickly as I am able.

Also, if anyone was missed in the clearing of the receipts forwarded to us. Please contact me directly or email our support team and we will correct this at once. My apologies for the delay, this was a very popular promotion and we managed to fall a little behind.

We appreciate all those who shared suggestions for improving our Rewards Dollars Program. I will attempt to twitter future Rewards Promos and site changes ahead of their going live on BooksOnBoard.

Do I necessarily have to register the gift certificate for myself? I see the $30 in reward dollars, but there's nothing wrong with letting the $30 GC sit in my account, right? I figured I would hold onto it in case I decided to give it to someone else as a present.

This is why I really dislike their email process to get rewards it's really confusing and is prone to errors. I'm glad they went to an automated solution. Unfortunately for this promo they still require one to claim their rewards.

From what I gather from your previous posts it looks like you're doing everything correctly. You email them the at rewards@booksonboard.com right? Usually I just forward them the email that I received confirming my purchase.

Most of the time they get it right, but because it is a manual process on their end they do drop the ball every now and then. If you got a "rewards" confirmation I would contact them immediately. If you have not just give them a few more hours maybe a day.

BoB is a good company I've never had issues with them, just have a little patience and you'll get your well deserved $60.

I've seen similar promotions from time to time. Might be a long time coming though. *sigh* I seriously regret not getting more... I should've bought at least $200 worth of gc's...
