WWDC keynote now! New MacBook! No tablet/netbook mentioned! - Page 3

One of the tech blogs (endgadget or one of those) mentioned some info from an 'insider' who accurately predicted all of the iphone additions (video, 's' name). The insider claimed that the tablet is being developed but not ready. Maybe Jan 2010 for the mac conference they have then?
The apps are so cool and many of them would benefit from a 9.5" screen, and Apple has everything else in place, it just seems inevitable.

You are probably thinking of John Gruber's WWDC predictions.

Such as "I’m completely convinced that the tablet is real. But I am almost just as convinced that it is not ready to be announced. Patience on this one."

On another note, I just placed my order for a 32gig iPhone GS. I'll be actually glad to stop tinkering with WM (and I've certainly done my share of ROM tweaking), and just start enjoying the Apple experience. Phew!

The SD Card slot is the most interesting thing about the new MacBook Pros.

They take SD cards and SDHC cards, and MMC cards and the mini versions (with appropriate SD card sized adapter).

Apple have resisted adding a card reader to any of their computers until now.

I've certainly noticed in the last couple of years that SD/SDHC cards seems to have become the de-facto memory card standard, despite all Sony's efforts with their memory sticks.

I suppose this ubiquity is what's persuaded Apple that an SD card slot would be a good idea.

It'll certainly make me happy the next time I upgrade - I have a multi-card memory readers, but I never use anything except the SD Card slot. (Camera, radio, CyBook - all SD Cards).
