All the major DRM providers make reading software available for free on general purpose devices, but they make vendors of dedicated reading devices pay for the same software. One difference between the two is that the user of a general purpose device downloads the reading app, but it is pre-installed on a dedicated device.

Yes but those are not the custom ports to eBook Reader devices. Mobipocket is free for download as well but not for custom ports.

............. Amazon builds a very nice device and offers a fine package... but I like the Astak model.

Being out of the US and travelling a lot, I prefer USB for downloading, never having the option for EVDO use, i guess I have no basis for comparison...

I prefer the look of the AZTAK model over a lot og things out there, though for me the casing does look like an 80's throwback....*shrugs*

Still, the formats this thing can use + SD card expansion, it's a winner for me...so far.
