LCDs are fine for ebooks, I can even read ebooks on my ipod touch if on the move (although on a screen that size it is 'slightly' painful).
5hrs battery life is probably 4 hrs in practice, but it's still good for a device you use on the way to work, charge it at home every night or two.

I had mention this in the delstar thread, and saw you guys had a thread on it all ready.

Its an alpha 700, just Texet labled & boot screen says texet, like all those windows ce/linux laptops you see on ebay under diffrent names but all look the same, which are also skytone, at least the linux mips models.

This is the thing i was talking about it won http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_1184wt_1109

Seems the restore img fixed it, so i was testing out fbreader and the pdf, not bad at all fbreader even connects to this free bookstore thing.

Only thing wrong I'm aware of is the screen has a a couple of indentions/dings in the top plastic layer, mainly around the black screen border though. but for $100 as long as it stay working its worth keeping it, as it isn't real noticeable.

Got about 3 hours with wifi on, other stuff going, medium brightness on the battery, some of it like the backing looks cheap, but its quality is ok for the most part.

I wouldn't pay what they want retail for it ever, but i'd say new its worth about $150 in my opinion new.
