We have 2 confirmed cases in British Columbia, both recent visitors to Mexico. Both are in isolation "in-home". All kinds of warnings going out about how to prevent the spread and containment. Heat sensors on at airport to see if travellers returning from Mexico have a fever.

Mexico is a popular destination for us BCers.

I met a bushel full of BCers at this one particulr resort in Pto Vallarta, the name will come to me presently. It is specifically planned for you guys, travel agents arranging group tix, etc. They couldn't believe it took 12 hrs and 3 plane changes to get there from Bham, whereas it is nonstop from BC. Royal Decameron seems like maybe the name of the place. It's PLUSH and the best all-inclusive we have ever been to, in case you are looking for a place... you know, after the flu goes away.

But back to the 'Pig' flu!

My wife & I lived (suffered badly) through the last major flu outbreak (which they are now referring to as a 'pandemic') in the mid 1960's with two babes in arms who we were almost unable to attend to & protect.

So far the only deaths have been in Mexico which several sources are speculating is due to local conditions - as the bird flu in China! There may (will) be more deaths but I expect not the 6/7% in Mexico - I may well stand corrected.

Don't panic 'just' yet people
