Well, it's good to see you're a realist and don't expect Adrian to help out with the gibbon-pig-raising. Hell, I can't even get him to clean his own faeces off the walls (he calls it "Performance Art").

Incidentally, about 10 years ago Sydney had a massive hail storm which caused enormous amounts of damage to buildings and vehicles, to the point where many of the latter were just written off. Places with slate roofs (and there were a hell of a lot, terraces and the like, with their original slate in the inner suburbs of Sydney) were the hardest hit, since the replacement slate had to come from the UK (some houses wore tarp bonnets for 18 months to 2 years). Corrugated metal roofs held up much better than slate or tile, though dented. Cars, not so much. Many were write-offs, and for years afterwards seeing completely pockmarked cars driving around was not worthy of note. None of which matters to you, Ricky...I was just remembering.

Cheers,
Marc

Nah, it matters a lot to me. I feel much better knowing this sort of crap happens to people all over the world. And, really .... there were people a lot harder hit than I was.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but I had one friend who was out on the highway when the storm hit. She was sitting in the car when the hail stones blew out all of her windows and whacked the car roof in. All she could do was hunker down in the front seat as the rain and hail pounded down on her.

When I heard about that (and saw the photos of her car), I felt rather guilty about complaining about mine .... even if it was new.

And, what do you mean he's not going to give me any gibbon-pig support?? Damn and hell. That's the last time I trust a gibbon in the dark.

Are these photos perchance online? And would she mind if you pointed us to them? The curious rubberneckers want to see them.....
