We're here right now. Enjoying the venue and looking at all the different readers. There are 13 of us here!
We'll see if we can download a photo later.

Chris, I obtained the Hanlin update from a link posted by "weeatallthepies" in this thread. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45521

It was great to meet everyone there today.

Wonderful meetup! Look at all the ebook readers on the table and happy people.

groovyjoss, that was roytravis.

Interesting that you have HanLin splashscreens with firmware dated April 09, sianon (and it was great to finally meet you!).

millydog, I sent you a PM - good luck!

I'm the one who looks way too fat in the first photo. Less ereading and more exercise? Or is that heresy?

I should, of course, say thankyou to all for a lovely time. I enjoyed seeing all the readers - including a Kindle 2. What a nice bunch of people. Worth every cent and an 11 hour trip each way.

nigeldb, I didn't see you had a camera there! Its great to have this record of our meetup.

Yep, I'd like to meet up again soon with such a nice group of people. Maybe we should aim for mid-late September?

roytravis has asked for a venue where we can mingle more next time (although swapping seats like you and I did halfway worked well). The bench seat looked comfy, but those in the middle were a bit hemmed in.

I enjoyed Koko Black's hot chocolate with the choc shavings on top, mmmmmm.)

What's your avatar? Its very colourful, but I can't work it out...

Terrific! I'm glad you all had a good time and only wish that I could have made it. I saw several Sony's, an Iliad, and a Kindle. What other devices did you have?

aw ! it looks like you had a brilliant time. i wish i could have been.

i agree with the "swapping seats" venue, by the way ; after the first apéro, we switched locations to a place where we are standing up for the first part of the evening. much easier to talk to more people that way. although you still can't follow every single conversation of the evening, sadly. (trust me. i've tried. can't be done.)

thank you for the photos !

vivaldirules, we had 1 or 2 of each reader: HanLin V3, iLiad V2, DR1000S, Sony, Kindle and Cybook. Such a pity you couldn't make it - maybe next time?

We also had a variety of mobile phones, iPod touch, HTC varieties and Laine's Sony Vaio.

roytravis has kindly volunteered to help co-ordinate the next meetup, so if anyone else wishes to volunteer - please step up!

zelda_pinwheel, thank you for giving me the idea to arrange this meetup (your cafe thread) and then the encouragement to make it all happen. Now you just have to work yourself up to the long flight here and you can join us next time, too!

Hi Cbell...have iphone, have camera ...that's why they are a bit fuzzy.

Yup, more mingling is good or else you really only get to see the four or five people sitting near you. At the risk of putting you on the spot, it might be useful to find a place where you could give us all a quick update on things (say a 5min talk) and then we could mingle.

Some things to consider
1. Weekday or weekend - Weekends are good so out of towners can join
2. Weekday means after work so a bar could be good?
3. Weekend - it's pleasant over coffee or breakfast
4. Weekend - if we get it together we could arrange to meet at Chandon??

Went to Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane and found this box you walked into, completely lined with mirrors, lit by ultraviolet lights and filled with hanging multicoloured balls. It was fantastic. I could have sat in there for hours
