This review is actually a bit better than some of the official reviews that I have seen. Good job.

But it takes time for Amazon to realize you've changed places in a book, and you have to have Whispernet turned on, and it has to be an Amazon book. The quick-and-dirty method of synching would be to just transfer the .mbp file for the book from one Kindle to another using a computer and the USB cords. (Note that this probably won't work for an iPhone/iPod Kindle app; people apparently have much less access to their files from these.)
Don't really need that.

The iPhone/iPod Kindle app it quite good about checking for sync. Does it every time a book is opened. The only thing that gets in the way is if you are in the habit of extending you battery life by keeping the modems turned off.

EDIT: I was really quite surprised, after downloading a previously purchased book, to find my iPod Touch asking if I wanted to go to the last page read from my K1. I just didn't expect it.

Interesting! My two Kindles weren't as good about synching with each other, but I'm glad the iPod/iPhone checks faithfully.

Part of my problem may have been that I don't leave the modems on habitually; I like to conserve the battery as much as possible. I'm a battery-hoarder :-) I *did* turn the modems on when I was trying to get them to synch, mind you; I'm not *that* much of a battery-hoarder!

But maybe it's important to have the modem on when you exit the book(s) for synching, for instance, and I often don't.

:-) I was trying to pay Mobileread back, in my own small way, for the Kindle giveaway. It seemed only fair.

Probably better that Amazon *doesn't* pay me, actually; that way I can give my fair opinion without being distracted by the possibility of money.

I'm glad you liked the review, though.

Also, for those who are interested, I will probably do a page-turning speed comparison with a topaz book in this thread as sort of an appendix to the appendix, as it were. Since it turns out I do have a topaz book. However probably not till late next week, as I am pretty booked up until then.
