Since when has my name been linked with the concept of maturity?? Sounds like I've been slandered.

A follow-up on the extreme sheep art story is here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7961889.stm

There's an interview with the shepherd artists.

'A group of shepherds talk to Penny Roberts about the challenges of making an 'extreme shepherding' internet advertisement for Samsung and YouTube. The viral advert on site YouTube has already had thousands of viewers. The shepherds claim it was "good dogs and good sheep", not computer trickery.'

It could be done for real and was done for real. They used some stop motion photography, and that's clear from watching it. I doubt there was much, if any, computer trickery involved.

Those dogs, and the men that trained them, are amazing.

I don't think it's trickery at all, though computers are used to plan every movement in advance. It is possible though that every trainer could be outfitted with a way to view movements in realtime just like looking in a mirror. It can easily done nowadays. The resulting video was surely edited of bad takes, just like a movie.

But manipulating dog commands to do such fine movement... prodigious.
