I'm hoping to get a K2 in a couple of weeks. I think I'll definitely be going for a decalgirl skin. I like that you can get ones that aren't busy looking.

does anyone know, with the laptop skins, does the skin include the inside, around the keyboard? not just the outside top of the screen?

I've used their skins for ipod and blackberry, and they're durable and pretty easy to apply.

How did you get the Kindle 2 to display the custom image -- or is it only an image, and not actually a screen saver?

It's great that Decal Girl understands the importance of accessorizing!

Deb... there is a patch someone did in this thread https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40302 to allow for custom images on the K2.

I am really glad to see that people had better luck with the decalgirl skins than I had. FYI, my skin {Radiosity} was completely off in the front, and though I emailed them last week, I have yet to hear back from them:

With all due respect however, I must ask the following question.

Have you actually *tried* installing this stenciled decal on a Kindle2?

If you do, just like me you'll find out that the front is completely off, and not matching the Kindle 2 at all.

If you try to align with the keyboard holes, the film gets on the screen and the page turning buttons. If you try to align with the screen bezel, it sits on top of the keyboard buttons.
To summarize it, the front is completely unusable.

Any ideas?

Ooooh... thanks. I had read the initial part of that thread, but stopped following it, and didn't realize the patch had gotten safer.
