Duplicates, Duplicates, Duplicates ... and ISBNs
Hi,
I am experiencing several issues during duplicates management testing: - You drag a new ebook into calibre. - If you drag it again, the duplicate is detected and user gets a prompt. - However, if between one drag and the other you update metadata from the first book and by chance the title is not accurate between the two copies of the book, you get a duplicate. - If you then update the second copy metadata info, the duplicate is not detected. It would be great if duplicate checks can occur (kind of Out-Of-Band "Report" would work) after duplicates are in the DB. Current feature seems to work only if the ebook copies have the right title from the start and Calibre parses it properly. Regards. |

Checking for duplicates at every rename would make editting metadata very slow in large databases, which is why calibre doesn't do it.
