You can find older graphics drivers for your video card and install that and see if it works.

As I said before, find an older graphics driver and install that.

Now that I think of it, try rolling back the driver you are using on Windows. You would then get the previous driver.

On my system it's the third button, but it looked disabled in a screenshot you posted earlier.

So the only way is to find an old driver on NVIDIA website and try to reinstall it over the current.

hmm since that is an ancient card, I now dont think using older driver is good idea

Is this an issue: Motherboard needs DDR3 (lately added some).

I didnt find dutch driver, here's 2 alternatives: (german)

Thanks, downloaded the German driver - would it install over the old one by just clicking on it?

Before that, is it wise to first try the AppData trick and install a fresh Calibre - if so, please would you lead me by small steps JSWOLF "Go to your calibre Configuration directory and rename it to calibre.bak Go to %appdata% and then rename calibre so you start with no config. Then see if the viewer works."
There are so many files there.. AppData/then what/what next

Over the weekend:
- uninstalled including, manually, all AppData Then installed fresh: no change
- deleted a NVIDIA update: no luck there either. So updated it again because, as you said, maybe not such a good idea.

Learned a lot, now looking for the courage to install the German Driver

It'll be OK to install the German driver. You just may or may not understand the German when installing.

Thanks - tomorrow, now's late.
Thought re-updating was simple, but comes with Windows-update, so it's lost - or is it? Sscreen seems to have slowed down since; can't find the original.

What do I do: just click on the German.exe file or uninstall NVIDIA first?
(my German is from before internet)
