Suggestions for Sigil Improvements or New Features

Increasing the number saved would be trivial. Making it a user preference setting would take way more code than its use would warrant (especially in an already cluttered gui preference environment), in my opinion.

In that case, I would like that Sigil remembers the last 20 saved epubs.

That's much too many (for a default value). The number of users that would need that many in their recent list would be tiny. That number won't even fit on smaller screens. Perhaps we can come up with an environment variable solution that advanced users could make use of?

Maybe it can be solve with an expandable "File" menu, something like:

I'm not ruling anything out, but that would still be a good deal of coding work for the expansion of an existing feature that I just don't see benefitting that many people. Let's see if others chime in on this, though. I'm probably not the best one to judge, since I very rarely use the Recently Opened feature of any application. *shrug*

I make use of the recently used list, usually five is sufficient but I wouldn't mind a few more.

Something others may not have noticed is that the list is numbered 1-5, and the numbers are underlined, which means they're 'shortcuts' = i.e. Alt+F,3 opens the third item.

If that feature is to be retained the list probably couldn't be more than 9.

Here, indeed, keyboard operation becomes problematic, because "1" is active from 10, so you would have to click it multiple times.

I was going to suggest 10 recent files but in light of above, 9 would be an improvement in the right direction.

You could get 10 if you used zero as an option: 0-9

Leave the 5 most recent as is with the shortcuts, and add a Recently used flyout with 20 most recent and no shortcuts.

@KevinH - I think you misread what I wrote.

All users would continue to access 1-5 most recent titles just as they do now.

A few users (e.g. @RbnJrg and @philja) would make use of the additional flyout if what they want isn't in the top 5. The 20 most recent would include the top 5 shown in the File drop down menu.

No, I didn't misread. IMO not even 5% of users would use more than 9. So my vote is expand 5 to 9 with no submenus nor environment vars to extend that.
