You're missing the point, Jon. We're not saying images should be removed from an existing ebook. We're saying there's no need for any of the images to ever have been included in the first place. They're pointless fluff. As much of a fan of fantasy I have been over the years, I never encountered an fantasy map that I didn't skip past. I don't care for geography. Real or imaginary. And what the characters look like is my business, not the author/publisher's.

Try one more time, Jon. This time more slowly. No one is suggesting that anyone should remove images from their ebook purchases.

Besides; I don't edit ebooks any more. Not unless there's some sort of horrific formatting snafu that prevents effortless reading. But I will skip past pointless images in fiction (especially sff), though. Thanks for your permission!

There are books that later on have images added to them such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring. They sell. So obviously a lot people want the images.
