I happily use KoReader over the stock reader, I love its reading UI and flexibility with gestures etc, but I do agree that a smarter library interface would be a great update.

I like them both. I use them interchangeably. I voted for KOReader, but the truth is that I've been using Kobo's ePub reader more lately because of its aesthetics, although functionally KOReader seems to me to be far superior as a reading program. Kobo's reading program offers me much less, although it is more than enough for reading, especially adding some patches and some additional functions with the NickelMenu (for example, a translator). Otherwise, I prefer to use KOReader on PocketBook e-readers because of the integration into their system.

Have never played with KOReader. Stock reading experience has been "good enough" for me that I just don't feel like undertaking the effort to install it and figure it out.
I thought about installing it on my Android tablet a couple of times, because the intelligent zoom feature would be really useful on my comics. but for whatever reason they don't offer it in the Google Play Store, and I've been hesitant to take the plunge on enabling sideloading. |

I have a Clara BW in landscape mode, so I use KOReader.
But I think the Kobo Reader is also very good (clean, with fairly simple menu access). Plato also works in landscape mode for the Clara BW, but I haven't been able to customize the fonts (I use Noto Sans, but with a slightly thicker font). It's missing some features for me. |
