I don't know. If you loaded the wrong loader, then loaded the correct loader without doing a reset it could fail in arbitrary ways. There are differences between the two EDL clients, but I've not seen mine fail at loading when the Python one works. When I'm working on custom builds I use EDL 20 times a day. I've had no problem with reliability. If you have time you might try again. OTOH, you've said that you've had different results on multiple trials of the same thing.

right now I'm not 100% certain on the USB bus of the Windows machine I was using to run your tool; it's started behaving oddly in other ways so I'm chalking it up to that for now. I have a new laptop on order and will give it a try again after that shows up.

worth noting: I did a review video of the keyboard case, as did Jeffrey Moss, and we both found that it randomly double-strikes space when you hit the space bar. I've submitted a Feedback to Boox about it but probably wise to hold off on purchasing the keyboard case until after they fix this.

So Boox continues releasing buggy hardware/software.

On my white Palma 1 pressing the volume down key sometimes jumps 2-3 pages instead of one.

I wish they would test these devices more before releasing them.

I mean, the whole point of the keyboard isn't usable this way, so one way or another they are going to have to fix it. we've discovered it so early they won't be able to avoid it.

This needs investigating. Is it a wonky button? Does the VolUp do this too? Is it a question of auto repeat on the button?

You can use use my UsbMode.apk and see how the little "triangles" work. Do they only flash when you release the button? Press the button short and long.

nothing really stands out on the space bar compared to anything else. they flash both when you push and release, down and then up, occasionally apparently simultaneously (but that's true for every key).

so, weird data point: because I am impatient, I bought a second keyboard case, this time from e-reader.ca instead of Boox's HK warehouse. this one also exhibits the problem, but much less frequently than the first one -- like, because it's so infrequent, the keyboard is at least usable for me. I have absolutely no idea what to make of this. maybe it indicates a common manufacturing defect but of varying severity?

I have a Feedback case open with Boox about this but am curious if anyone else has gotten one of these and can report back on the incidence rate of this problem for them.

Why are you using volume buttons? How about PgUp/PgDn?

volume buttons was the other guy on his Palma 2. the problem really only occurs with the space bar.

no, just does typematic repeat. to my knowledge, onyx_config has nothing to do with keyboard behavior.
