I buy the monthly Webscriptions bundle (6-8 books for $15). I buy a few singles from Fictionwise or Webscriptions. I buy other bundles from Webscriptions (like their recent "Jupiter novels" collection -- 6 novels for $20).

Really, there are reasonably priced books out there. Some publishers "get it," although most seem not to.

I've purchased WAY too many eBooks a month this year. Of course this is entirely due to the wonderful 50% and 100% rebate/reward offers from Fictionwise and BoB lately! If I take all the eBooks I got from the big sales and the ones I bought in more normal times throughout the year, I probably averaged 7 eBooks a month.

I have to agree.. and it means that my Cybook is already loaded with LOTS of good eBooks for my vacation next week. One less thing to plan.

I picked more than 20.

It's a bit embarrasing to admit I usually buy at least 20 Harlequins.

I'm not sure if the Webscriptions count. Strictly speaking I don't pay but they only come free because of my Universe subscription. Plus Baen are always doing new irrisistable bundles.

I always get the 5 Regency Reads releases each month.

So we're nearly at 30 before I admit to staying up till 4:00 am every Tuesday morning to check out the new Fictionwise releases. I probably buy at least 10 a month.

When I retired colleagues kept asking me how could I possibly fill up the time - in fact I could use 48 hour days.

I Selected 4 on average, but I tend to buy ebooks in fits and starts, usually when there is a special sale, like Fictionwise and BoB recent ones, then I'll buy 20-30 at a time.

My book budget used to be about £40-50 a month, But i've reduced it to about £20-30 with about half spent on ebooks as I spent quiet a bit on getting the reader whose cost I want to amortise (So I can save up for the next gadget ). The only problem is that Super sales mean that I end up blowing my budget for 2-4 months at a time, though I still have Micropay which I can use over that period.

As for reading, it really depends. If I'm free, it can be a Book or three a day but on average I tend to read 2-4 books a week, but usually at least half are rereads as I like to go over old favourites on a regular basis, especially when a new book in a series is about to come out.

You should never be enbarrased by your choice of reading material! At least you are reading. There are too many people out there who haven't picked up a book in years! Harlequins are relatively inexpensive and quick reads, not to mention that they have launched the careers of many of our more popular and celebrated romance writers, ie. Nora Roberts, Christina Dodd, etc.

I easily (too easily if you ask my husband) purchase anywhere from 10-20 books a month! I would like to say buying(and reading) books is my only vice, but I don't want to lie to you.

I picked 8, because that's what it's averaged out as. At the moment I'm buying ebooks in the same way I buy pbooks, lots in one go, then none for a while. Of course, I now have the option of free books, so my to-read pile is growing larger more quickly.

I can see that amount growing, as ebooks are considerably easier to carry home than pbooks However, as some publishers are still in the dark ages when it comes to ebooks, I will still continue to buy pbooks of novels if I really, really want to read them! Non-fiction is a different matter - sometimes a pbook makes more sense than an ebook (I wouldn't want my reader next to my hob or next to the torch I use for fusing and soldering/brazing, f'r example; and it's no good where colour pictures are an essential part of the book!)

That was a rather waffly answer...

I'm in the non-existant 0 category as well. But not for lack of trying. Last month I picked up a Fictionwise acct to buy an EBW1150, and sat down for a couple evenings in a row to peruse their titles. Every book they had that I wanted was DRM laden so I didn't purchase any.

I may switch out of the 0 category, as I am considering getting Baen's webscriptions. For now, I have plenty of free/PD titles to chose from, and plenty of pbooks still filling my shelves.

I put 2 down, though I haven't really bought that number a month yet. Its more what I expect I will start buying in the near future; at the moment I am working through public domain books, Baen Free books and Creative Commons books that I have wanted to read. I will almost certainly continue to read the free books afterwards, but after I work through the ones on my really want to read list, I will probably alternate a purchased book with one or two free books.

I picked "1"; I rarely buy ebooks. (Not done with the freebies and converted fanfic.) I occasionally buy a cluster of stories at Fictionwise, but I'm not sure how to count them. Despite how FW labels them, I don't feel comfortable calling a 2400 word short story a "book."

How many I purchase? Or, how many I download? I purchase 16-20, download (i.e. FeedBooks, Manybooks, Gutenburg, here) approx. 30-40. Depending on what I find that I like.

Anyway you look at it, I probably download & purchase way too much. Unfortunately, or forturnately, I read way too much.
