Hmm, only have computer items on my home desk, but at work I have:

1. Pack of corn cakes
2. At least two dirty cups
3. A pair of shoes
4. A shawl
5. A pile of random post-its which I'll never use again but which I'm scared to throw away (even if I can't remember whose number it is!)
6. A very large pile of magazines - appears to be a mess to the uninitiated but is actually very well organised into sections of ready for filing/catalogued/unread/very useful
7. Chocolate
8. Plastic cutlery
9. On Thursdays my guitar
10. In tray, with my notebook and a pen in the top section.

There's nowhere to leave anything at work, so my desk stores everything. This is just the most interesting stuff (which is a bit worrying ...). However the company has a clear desk policy (seriously) so all work related stuff has to be put away at the end of the day. It was terrifying the day we all had to clear our desks so that they could be disinfected (swine flu). Took ages. And then we had to put it all back again.

That's more than I have on my desk!

Two stuffed animals my girlfriend bought me.
-I have a stuffed sloth.. yes, a sloth stuffed animal. His name is Seymour.
-A small stuffed penguin whose name is Irwin.

I have a small (about 9 inches) stone-ish asian lotus thing mandala that is very Buddhist-y.

A book stand that I use to deal with texts while I'm typing.

A pulse smartpen I recently put up on craigslist.

And thats about it besides the iMac and some hard drives!

My desk at home:

1. Tin of .177 pellets
2. 1935 Waterman fountain pen
3. Pot of silver pickling acid
4. Bright pink pocket knife
5. USB plasma ball
6. Pruning knife with "slayer of noses" engraved on the blade (yes, noses. No, that wasn't a spelling error)
7. Cardboard model of a Fiat 500 (old version)
8. Pot of artifical sunflowers
9. An in-progress silver chain maille bracelet
10. Roll of toilet paper

My desk at work:
1. Something to hit people with
2. Calendar
3. Mouse
4. Phone
5. Keyboard
6. Mousemat
7. In tray
8. An ever growing collection of cheap biros for people to use so they don't swipe my own pen (I started off with two. Without any help from me I'm now at 8. When I get to twelve, I'll move 10 of them onto the workbench, where they will vanish seemingly without anyone using them.)

And, umm, that's it at the moment. When I'm there there's also a pen and a couple of pads out. I must get round to putting stuff up on the partition at the back of it!

Glad to hear it! I've decided that if I'm going to be stuck at a desk all day, I might as well be surrounded by pretty things I like.

I don't have any interesting things on my upstairs desk (where I'm at). However, I do have close enough to 10 things, so in the interest of boring you unutterably silly:
  1. iMac
  2. Epson printer
  3. Polaroid camera
  4. Lacie backup drives
  5. Bose Speakers
  6. Ikea red glass desklamp
  7. Epson scanner
  8. Oricom phone
  9. Lunch
  10. Wallet

If I was at my downstairs desk, it would only be:
  1. Fujitsu laptop
  2. Bose clock-radio
  3. Oricom phone
  4. iPod dock

See? Boring. Just thought I'd give you some kind of base-point to which to calibrate the designated "interesting".

Cheers,
Marc
