@chaley, just letting you know, this morning I got this glitch with calibre 7.4 on Windows 10… and I do use View Manager.
On pressing F2 on a mid-row Integer cell it opened at extreme left over the top of the leftmost cell, rather than in-place. No harm done, I entered the value, pressed enter and it displayed where it should, when I entered the value followed by Tab the value entered displayed where it should, and the next cell opened for edit. I haven't been able to reproduce, not that I tried very hard. I was dodging in and out of the Windows calculator at the time. Let me know if you want me to try harder. I have a suspicion it's happened before. When I enter metadata I'm normally looking at the source of the metadata, rather than what's happening in calibre. BR |

The fix hasn't been released, so the problem can still happen if the conditions are met. IIRC those conditions are 1) the cell is smaller than some system-dependent value, aroun 50 to 90 pixels, and 2) there has never been a horizonal scroll bar shown for the list view. The open question is whether there is another condition. We don't see one, and unless it is repeatable we can't fix it. Running from source would help, but not prove, that the fix works. |

![]() I mainly wanted to let you know it happened on Windows, and for me at least, it is not easily reproducible. I think the other reports were on Linux and were reproducible. I just forced a horizontal scroll by using shortcuts to show the Tag Browser on left edge and Book Details on right edge… for me they're Ctrl+Alt+T and Ctrl+Alt+L: When I pressed F2 on the int cell directly, the edit box opened in place, ditto when I tabbed into it after editing the preceding cell. Which supports my suspicion that it was the Alt+tabbing between calibre and Calculator that triggered the edit box opening over the leftmost cell. I'm not particularly motivated to investigate further, it's harmless and for me at least, hard to reproduce. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-28-2024 at 05:12 PM.
