I was playing with my Kindle Touch and made the mistake of tapping the Back icon, forgetting that you have to use Home button to get out. The result totally surprised me.

I never want Back back.

I have gotten the over the air update on my PaperWhite, latest version. To be honest it is the first time I can remember that a kindle of mine has updated over the air.

Earlier this year I got a KOA that came with a firmware compatible with watchthis. It's been so long since I had a kindle that I forgot it would force an update. I wasn't happy when it did update a few minutes after initial setup. Needless to say, when I got my scribe a couple of months ago, I set it up with my phone's Hotspot and limited the net speed to barely fast enough for the signin process out of paranoia. Now it sits on 5 16.1 in airplane mode. To be honest, I haven't seen a reason to update it anyway. Just waiting on kual and koreader so I don't have to convert my manga anymore.

I wanted to update my problem regarding the new label on a new ebook sent. With the new version 5.16.3.1 it seems to have been fixed, because I tried to send an epub that I had on the desktop and it worked: I had the New label, instead of the percentage.

I’m still on 5.16.2 for my Scribe. I have read that Scribe has forced MTP when connecting to MacOS for 5.16.3. Is there a way to ensure my device does not automatically update? Do I need to keep it on airplane mode forever?

Airplane mode or fill the storage up to 200 MB free space.

Which model Paperwhite?

5.16.2.1.1 is the most recent (and probably final) version for the PW3 (7th generation.)

I have the Scribe. From another thread, I’ve read issues with MTP such as not being able to back up everything via USB, and issues with sideloading KFX files converted via command line.
