I meant surgery on the code in LibraryDatabase2 not on the sql, which I agree is simple. It is a neat idea though, simpler to implement than custom fields. But apart froma publish date, is there any other real use for it? And even for the publish date, you could just add the tag 1950 and then search tag:1950 to find all books published in 1950 and so on.

The real long term solution is to allow the user to create custom fields in the database. Unfortunately, given my other priorities, it's going to be a long time before this is implemented.

I simply posted it as an idea that might be relatively simple to implement. There always seem to be those who are looking to store a bit more data. For my own purposes most of what I want is already there in a very usable form.

What I store in my book database is the date I bought the book, the price and the date when I read the book. I also store information about where I bought the book. The reading date is a list of dates to be able to save information for each time when I read a book.
