I have no idea of the differences between the black and white Leaf 2.
I just like a flush display and I wouldn't buy something with a bezel. OTOH, my desktop display has a bezel and it doesn't kill me. Still, I don't poke my desktop. Remember the good ol' days of CRT where the glass would show up any touch of grease? You always had a co-worker who would point things out on your screen with their fat fingers. |

I'll find out soon enough. I'm in the USA. I ordered my Leaf 2 from Ereader Store in Germany yesterday. It's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. That's impressive!

Actually, all the contrast stuff that Onyx does just annoys me.
Even with all the controls set to off KCB.apk still does strange things. Thin vertical lines disappear, white on light gray turns to a solid white blob. The only way that I got peace was with "pm disable com.onyx". |

No, I don't. I have a Note Air 2, which has a larger display but less DPI. I have a Nook Glowlight 4, a 6 inch display with 300 dpi. I also have an older Onyx Boox Nova2. None of these are 1200, of course, but comparisons with the Nook or Nova could be useful.

My Leaf 2 has arrived! However, the one I received is the black one with the flush display. The Ereader store website said that they have the white one. That's not a big deal for me as such, though I will contact Ereader Store to tell them.
I'm in the process of setting up my Leaf 2 now. It's downloading and installing a firmware update. I've set up Play Store. The Leaf reminds me of the original Amazon Oasis in size and appearance. I have a microSD card and I am wondering if I can set it up for the device to use as additional internal storage. Its default mode is to set up the card as portable storage to transfer files from one device to another. |

If you want it as internal you might want to format it ext2 or ext4.
You might have to change something to do that. |

I can save books to the microSD card and the Library can access them. So that won't be an issue. It would be an issue only for apps I install from Play Store. I plan to install only a few apps, and only one of them will need much in the way of storage, so it may not be an issue. The Leaf 2 has 32 GB of internal storage as it is.
It also has two physical page turn buttons. In its Settings, it is possible to remap these buttons to some extent. The physical buttons work in KOReader and in Moon Reader. I haven't had the chance to do much actual reading with the Leaf 2 yet. I like the look and feel of it. It's quite thin and light. |

Please try UsbMode and tell me if they are still filtering keystrokes so that action only occurs on release of the keys.
If they aren't, the little down triangle will appear while you are still pressing the button. If they are, an up/down will occur only when you release the button. |

For what it's worth, the CPU is listed as Qualcomm SCUBAPIIOT. A four-core CPU. Last edited by downeaster59; 11-09-2022 at 03:20 PM. |

If you care, look at this thread (and I'll fix it for you): https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=349950 Quote:
It seems that Qualcomm was not satisfied with only MSM numbers and SDM numbers and so they had to come up with stupid names (q.v. "Bengal") I had reported this earlier as Snapdragon 630. (Maybe 620?) Still, it's a step down from the 636 octocore in the Poke3. |

I've glanced at the thread you pointed me to. From what I understand, your framework.jar patch would eliminate delays in how the device responds to button input - which would definitely be a good thing! I don't know if it would allow more apps to make use of the buttons, though. |

Well, it also prevents the VolUp/Dn / PgUp/Dn mapping from occurring.
My philosophy has always been to have fixed key mapping and if any app gives me trouble to patch that. Some people want to use a context sensitive mapping. It's all stupid. An app should try to make sense of any key it receives. It should never just not respond. PgDn to an audio player? Mmm, maybe it should lower the volume? |
