I'm running Calibre 5.39 on my Apple laptop (MacBook Air M1, running Mac OS 12.3) and I'm having the same problem with the column widths going to default every time I shut down Calibre and restart the program.

There's an update, 5.39.1, that fixes this

Same problem for me with Windows 11 and 5.39. And the file manager won't show archived files, and I can't change the setting in the lower right hand corner. I get this:

Windows-10-10.0.22000 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE')
('Windows', '10', '10.0.22000')
Python 3.8.5
Windows: ('10', '10.0.22000', '', 'Multiprocessor Free')

5.39.1 is available now; Calibre doesn't notify of smaller hotfix updates.

For those running 5.39, read the entire thread. I did post that 5.39.1 is available.

Obviously, you did not read page 2 or you would have seen the post. You cannot just jump into a thread asking for help without having read the thread because the help you want/need could have been posted already.
