For those who might be looking for a backup Kobo Aura One, this one seems like a pretty good deal compared to what I've seen on eBay.

https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m46828273648/

I can't vouch for the seller (and I'm not crazy about Mercari, though I have used them a few times), but this Kobo One is supposed to be in "like new" condition. It looks pretty good in the pictures.

At any rate, for what it's worth.

It's now been sold. And NOT to me.

Thanks for the link to the KA1 that was for sale. I saw one for sale recently for $60 that I tried hard to convince the seller to ship to me, but they were only interested in a local sale.

Probably will bite the bullet on the new kindle once theres a sale unless I catch a Forma for a good price.

I'm guessing at some point the Forma's will be cleared out. Unless they let the stock run low before releasing the Sage and Libra 2.

As for the Aura One, I kind of hope somewhere here got it, but I see the seller dropped it another $7 (to $127) so that might have triggered someone who had already been watching it on Mercari.

I still use and love my Aura One. It is the one for me!
Weight and visuals are perfect, battery showing its age now.
I would prefer buttons, but found this routine for one-hand reading: tap on the lower part of the screen for next page, and swipe left for previous page.

I am going to keep my eye out for a used KA1. I wish Kobo had just thrown a mobius screen on the KA1 and tweaked it to try to further trim the weight and increase the responsiveness instead of the disappointment we ended up getting.
This. Exactly.

Replying to this old post because I haven't been on the forum in a while...

But yes, still using my KA1 bought at launch in 2016. I've been using it exclusively with KOReader for the last three years or so, mostly because I like to use every square mm of space in full-screen mode, it does a better job of laying out ePubs, pages turn faster, and I got sick of applying patches to every firmware update. My battery isn't too bad and I still love reading with it.

Having said that the new Sage has piqued my interest... will wait to see if KOReader runs on it though.

As far as I know, the newer releases of KOReader run on the Elipsa so running on the what sounds like very similar hardware of the Sage should be a relatively easy task. Admittedly, as someone who does not have to undertake the task, any task is easy. NiLuJe and co.'s opinion may differ.

In that case I never had a KA1, since I bought an Aura ... something... in 2014. I read somewhere that there was a KA3. I've concluded that I don't know the Aura line very well.
