Okay. That's why I was confused. The Clara should still be easily available.

If the Nia is a Clara replacement that is waterproof and still has the orange light, I'll likely get one. But I'm betting those saying it is a replacement for the low-end Aura 2 are right.

They don't. I got lucky and found one used on eBay. But you can buy a Shine 3 from Germany (Grooves.Land) and get it shipped to the U.S. (4-12 days) for free.

Don't see much point in it, however, if you already have a Clara HD and like the Kobo firmware (which is mostly more "feature-rich" then the Tolino Shine 3). I like the Tolinos because they'll work for Overdrive (no issues with being stymied if Kobo and Overdrive revisions don't match) and allows me to buy Adobe DRM ePub books from various bookstores directly (no Adobe ADE on my Linux computer).

I love the Kobo firmware. I wanted the Libre but decided against it, as I really prefer the smaller size. I am eager to see what the new one is like and how it compares to the Clara HD. I will get one or the other, I think I should get a reward for working 40 hours a week in a grocery store during these times of crisis! I'll still have to hide it though. My Mini is already hidden, but there are 4 readers laying on my shelf. So I'll hide one of the Kindles

There was a model between the Glo HD and the Clara, I believe, and that is the one I didn't get. I can't find the name of the device, so maybe I'm wrong. It's early, and I have to be at work at 7 a.m.

Ran across one site which posted an item claiming an anonymous source within Kobo stated the Kobo NoName is going to be using an eInk Kaleido colour display panel. This would match with other devices being released using that panel.

It looked rather similar to Nate Hoffelder's The Digital Reader blog where he mentions the Nia and hopes that it would have an eInk Kaleido though it is not mentioned in the electronic label. Other than the unnamed source, of course.

I really hope it's not 6" and at least 7". a 6" color screen is almost worthless since those wanting color would most likely be reading things such as comics.

I'm with you. I love the first generation Aura and have never been tempted to "upgrade" to a new reader. It would take something significant like the color eink you mention to compel to trade up to a new model.

If you look at the two attached images of the electronic label, you'll notice the Nia name is now missing.

Very interesting! I only bump into the Kobo/Overdrive mismatched edition issue once a year, and get around it by borrowing the book on my Kindle, but I didn’t know that the Shine 3 has built-in Adobe DRM. Since I don’t have a Kobo ereader handy and can’t check, how does this differ from the Kobo? Can’t we log in with our Adobe DRM ID on a Kobo device?
