I must admit that "make it so" sounds spiffier. Hmmm... so mote it be?

Back to the original thought in this thread, it appears that all of you who thought that "Guppy" was intentional were right. You win the prize!

Farther along in the book, there is this sentence:

So now it is obvious that saying Guppy instead of Minnow was intentional. To what end, I don't know. Maybe that will be revealed later in the book.

Speaking of the S.S. Minnow, I just read an article claiming that Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of Gilligan's island, named the wrecked ship the Minnow as an insult to then FCC chair Newton N. Minow.

I wonder what the name of the FCC chief was in the alternate timeline?
