![]() No. I did the same before I retired. Now I use the nicely sized, printable, address stickers. |

I said "business card" because it required no explanation but I actually have personal cards as well. It is a personal card in my case since I prefer to only use my business contact information for business. It's pretty inexpensive to have them printed up and it's a nice way to give people your contact information without having to dig for a pen or see if they know how to get contact info over IR or BT.

I had my Kindle with me today when I had breakfast at Denny's. When I left I decided to walk in a new ethnic grocery store across the parking lot. Wound up getting a shopping cart and buying some stuff...you know where this is heading.
After other stops, more than an hour later, as soon as I walked into the house I realized that I left the Kindle in the shopping cart. I had no idea as to what the name of the grocery store was, so I called Denny's and told the manager where I left the cart and begged him to run across the parking lost to check the cart. Sure enough...IT WAS STILL THERE! Made the half an hour drive back to pick it up and gave the guy a $40 reward. Maybe I'll learn my lesson!! |

Haha, just a random thought, I thought it would be hilarious that a thief would want to steal such a device, unless of course, he knows where he can find avid readers to sell them to (and if he did know avid readers, why is he a thief?) or if he knows how to use ebay. But then again, he should have known that people who reads are getting rarer these days so probably it's going to be hard to find buyers, at least in his perspective. So the only thing he would benefit out from stealing someone's Kindle intentionally would be to become a well-read thief and that would be hilarious to think about...lol.

I'm not so sure. There are a lot of people who steal library books...

Geesh... getting freaked now... I will leave my K2 on the desk of my cube at work... foolish, foolish, foolish...
However, anyone know if clear package tape will hurt the K2 if it is placed on the aluminum back? My Belkin neoprene case doesn't have a spot to place a card (if I had one which I don't) so I thought a printout with my contact info, taped to the back of the K2 would work. But I don't need adhesive migration mucking up the works. Hmmm.... I can see creating a "If Found Please Return" file and placing it in the K2. Now, the downside, if you have more than a few books, who is going to scroll to look for an ICE file? I can see someone developing a hack in which the screensavers can be replaced with an ICE file -- or that _could_ be a screensaver... this is prob. the best approach yet. NOW, I wonder if I found a Kindle and called Amazon and sd. I found a Kindle and would like to find the owner, if Amazon would supply that info, or contact the owner with _my_ name? Don |
