It should work, but to be safe, use this modified KoboRoot.tgz (I've installed it on my Aura Edition 2 v1). I've removed the updated drivers from it, as it updates the usb gadget driver (which may be incompatible with the kernel from the previous official firmware).

In this case, there isn't a need for that. The Clara HD is a Mark 7 device and the download package for the Forma includes the kernel for the all the Mark 7 devices.

Is anyone else having issues with the fast flip feature? I got so excited when the device told me about it, but then it suddenly stopped working.

Fast flip only works on kepubs.

Overall, I really like this firmware update. The improvements to CBZ are very extensive, and will easily make the forma *the* premium B&W E-ink comic/manga reading device.

Finally got built in full page e-book reading. This might not matter so much for the Forma, with all the screen real estate, but makes a big difference on the Clara HD.

There are, of course, a few bugs/flaws. Since I'm testing this on an unsupported device, these might just by a symptom of the update not being ready for the Clara.

Disabling the footer dies not automatically disable the fast page flip feature. If you are reading a Kepub with no footer and try to select a word in the bottom corners, you'll have a hard time of it. Fast page flip can still be disabled by editing the .conf file. It would be nice if, on the Forma, fast page flip used only the buttons rather than screen corners.

This update introduced a problem with dragging text selection handles. Most of the time, trying to drag the handle to change a selection of text will not work on the first time, and you have to lift your finger and try again for it to work.

Thank you to the Clara owners reporting on their experiences with the new firmware. I don't yet feel confident enough to sideload it, but am now looking forward to its official arrival on the Clara and the H2O2 (buying next week).

And I wouldn't expected them to.

I haven't noticed any difference here. It's always been hard and I tend to tap away and start again.

But, tell me, exactly what was wrong about my comments that you felt you needed to insult me about them? I know it is your default reaction, but, please tell me.

I mean, the first comment was really me wondering why @rashkae expected that quick turn to be automatically disabled when the footer was. After all, if it was automatically turned off, there would have been a post complaining about this as quickly as this one.

And the second was me saying that I hadn't seen a change. That was me expressing my experience. And expressing that I found it so bad that I gave up trying to use it a long time ago. I do try with most new firmware just in case it has improve. But, while other parts of the selection experience is better (not just my opinion), this hasn't really changed. Maybe I should have asked which firmware this was in comparison with. Maybe I should have also asked if this was with epubs or kepubs as there are enough differences between the two, that maybe one has deteriorated when the other hasn't.

So please, tell me what it is about my post that meant an otherwise empty post only intended to insult someone was needed.

And @rashkae, if my response seemed to be belittling your experience, opinion or otherwise discounting them, my apologies. It was not intended to do so, just add my opinion and experience. I'll admit the first statement was probably a bit terse and didn't really explain what I intended.
