A warning on the Dreamers series by Eddings. If you've not read other book by him, don't judge them by this standard. Its the Most Poorly written of his series, so while reasonably enjoyable is no where up to standard. It's in dire need of Editing actually.

But if You've not read his other series, definitely check out the Belgaried series or My Personal Favourite the Redemption of Althus, which is probably one of if his not best book to date.

I did the BoB version since I'm not a Fictionwise member, and I double dipped a bit.

They were giving rewards on gift certificates (ranging $3 for a $25 one, and $200 on a $1000 one), so I added everything up and then bought a gift certificate for how much it would be, which got me $6 rewards. Then I bought my books with the gift certificate for the rewards off of that.

I got:

4 trashy historical romance novels
1 paranormal romance novel (to try the sub genre out)
Purple Panties (an anthology of lesbian erotica)

And the one that I really need right now and was so happy to find it's also an ebook:

I Don't Know What I Want, But I Know It's Not This: A Step-by-step Guide to Finding Gratifying Work

Let me just also add how much I love my reader now that I can read trashy romance novels without the embarrasing covers of Fabio and Random Scantily Clad Woman #7.

I bought a few more since I posted - then once the sale ended I double-dipped by buying a couple more books with micropay that both had micropay rebates (only 10%) but still pretty good.

It made me happy.

Well, I bought

Destroyer novels # 7 and #10, (the first two Nuich novels, by Sapir and/or Murphy),
Harry Bosch Novels #1 (by Michael Connelly)
Accidental Time Machine (by John Haldeman)

I've been reading the Destroyer series since my teens, but as awful Finnish translations, and I have always wondered about the actual quality of writing in the novels. As for the other items, after reading reviews and excerpts, I became convinced I would enjoy them as well.

A bit pulpier than usual, but I felt like it.

I've bought 10 of the Richard S. Prather Shell Scott capers/mysteries from the 36 now available at Fictionwise. These were published primarily in the 50s, 60, and 70s.

I bought 4 before the sale went on.

Then I bought 5 during the 50% off sale.

And a few days ago, one was offered to me for 60% off.

Only 26 more to go.

I think there were 40 or 41 that were published. (I'm too lazy at this moment to look.)

Shell Scott is the detective who, for various reasons, always finds himself surrounded by beautiful babes and fearless bullets. He loves the babes - the tomatoes - but hates the beefy guys who are always firing their roscoes at him.

Interested in Shell Scott, or think you might be? Give him a try. One caper had him at a nudist colony (well, of course!) He's always eternally 30 years old and is always in trouble - with the dames and with the crooks.

As you may have guessed from my writing, Shell Scott is anything BUT politically correct. The tomatoes love him, and he loves them. He gives them a squeeze and they will invariably squeeze back. But he's also chivalrous and doesn't bed a woman just to have sex with her.

So, if you're tired of broken political lies told by an unending roll-call of rascals, or tired of hearing about Joe the Plumber, or trying to scrape by because you'll have to spread your "wealth" [read hard-earned bucks] around....well, then buddy (or "budette"), come with me when crooked politicians were punished because they were crooked and bullets always found the targets of the bad guys because they were bad, and beautiful women always needed rescuing because it was a different time and a different world, a time of innocence combined with ignorance; it was a time when, if you were bad, you were indeed punished.

I bought enough that they froze my FW account for buying too much When I called FW I told them it was their fault for having the sale, the guy said what, I repeated it, and he gave a little itty bitty chuckle after a few seconds

The good thing about FW is that they will always have another sale if you wait long enough.
