The user manual is maintained in source control in the calibre source tree. It is written in a simple wiki text like markup called restructured text. All the files are in the manual subdirectory of the calibre source tree. You can edit them and submit patches which I can merge.

You can browse the source code ina web browser and just save the particular file you want to modify if you dont like bazaar

new subject: calibre's LRF conversion defaults under "look & feel" and "page setup" tabs.
I have most of my books in a custom RTF format. I would like to convert these books to LRF so I don't lose the images when transferring to the Reader, also to take advantage of any speed or file size improvements. How do I shut off all the calibre default options so my formatting isn't changed? There should be a "convert as is" option - maybe one check box, or being able to set all values to zero. |

Umm setting everythong to zero is not going to give you a file that looks like the original. You can set conversiondefaults by clicking the arrow next to the convert books button.
