I've given myself a morning writing session Monday-Saturday, and a second session in the afternoons M-F. I moved to this schedule a few years back when I felt I wasn't being productive enough.
I'm generally more of a day person than a night person. That said, there have been times when a story idea hit me when I couldn't sleep, and I did a little extra work. I can't say that one time of day is more productive for me than another. For me it's a matter of what I'm working on. Today I went over my session goals in the morning and afternoon because I felt I had to write to the end of the scenes I was working on in both sessions. At times the story, or part of it, is the motivator for me. What works, works, right? |

Sometimes. ![]() Even my statement that night time is the best time for me is not a hard and fast rule - merely a reasonable generalisation of my lifestyle. I am not sure whether to wish I had found a reliable formula that works for me, or to be glad that I haven't (yet). |
