Not really, she's asking about calibre use, and I answer about it, not the other management I do outside of it.

However, I don't use it otherwise for managing the storage of my e-books. I tried it, but because I am very particular about the nomenclature and folder structure of my disk storage, and Calibre is very dogmatic about the same thing--and they don't agree--I go with my own management system, such as it is.

It's the same thing with the creation/modification of my e-books. Originally, I was using Calibre to create e-books, and I have to say, it makes what could be a very difficult process extremely easy. But again, I have certain desires regarding the structure/layout of the internal workings within the book, so I have learned to edit e-books using another tool available here on this forum.

But, as you can see from the above comments, I seem to be in a minority of one. Calibre should definitely be the first stop for anyone who is interested in taming their e-library.
We really need some folder friendly calibre like software.

The way lightroom works with photos. I point it to a folder, it adds the photos to the library, no copying or anything.

Hell, even iTunes works that way, unless you ask it to do something else.

Given you don't like Calibre, don't post in this thread. This is about the benefits of Calibre, not your OCDness and dislike of Calibre.

To learn about removing DRM from your DRM encumbered eBooks, go to https://apprenticealf.wordpress.com to get the latest plugin for Calibre and learn how to use it. If you have questions, you can ask for help there.

I use Calibre to manage my eBooks. I would be lost without it.

Yeah. I should have written "calibre-like software". Would have been clearer.
Punctuation matter.

I agree, mainly because English is not my own language and I don't get it.

Just because a person doesn't like a certain aspect of a piece of software doesn't mean they don't like the software. The OP was asking about the use of Calibre, so it's only fair to respond to her question with both the pros and the cons of what it can do. This is, after all a discussion of Calibre, not your dogmatic beliefs.

Oh, Jon, the irony!

Seriously, people can have opinions and express them. Even negative ones.

Don't let the grammar-Bolsheviks bother you. I work with people learning English as a second language for my living, and it's unfair to expect someone in that situation to be a Master (or Mistress if you will) of the language.

Pot, meet kettle.

Is it ereader, eReader or e-reader? Is it ebook, eBook or e-book?

And I can only assume you will no longer post in threads about Nooks or Kindles to slag them and say how much better Kobos are.
