Amazon v. Google: soon no YouTube on Fire TV

I think it's something more on Amazon's side. They had the same spat with Apple and had withheld the AmazonPrime app from AppleTv. Google's pulling of the YouTube app from Amazon devices is in retaliation to Amazon not selling Google's devices on Amazon.

I think it's funny that the Amazon Video app is now available on Apple TV, but they leave out the word Amazon.

Amazon is also selling Apple products again.

The CNET article is from 2015. I'm pretty sure Amazon and Apple made up, as Amazon Video can now be watched on Apple TV

Sounds like Sundar and Jeff should just both use a measuring stick app and settle this once and for all.

What part of "I think" requires proof? Other than Amazon being embroiled in the SAME type of spat with both Apple and Google...I have no "proof".

I do know that EVERY other streaming service is available on Apple's platform (Hulu, Netflix, HBO, Showtime, etc. etc.) - so always thought it was some game Amazon was playing that kept them off.

Now the same is happening with Google and Amazon, but not between Google and any other device provider.

I've noticed more and more of this sort of behavior over the past several years. I tend to call it the WalMart school of business, i.e. be more focused on wringing every advantage you can out, rather than building relationships. I suspect it's what the MBA schools are teaching these days.

I like Amazon, but they can be real jerks. From their past behavior, I would buy a Kindle e-reader from them, but I wouldn't buy any of their other hardware.

It's pretty hard to shop by whatever giant corporation is "nicest"

I am happy the PrimeVideo app finally made it to the appleTv. But frankly, I use my fireTv stick more. I only have one tv with an AppleTv attached, but I have FireTv sticks on all my tv's.

When I bothered, I could always use the PrimeVideo app on my iPad and AirPlay on my AppleTv.

Oh, none of them are nice. I didn't mean to imply that at all. I just don't care for Amazon's Fire OS on tablets and wouldn't buy Fire TV due to missing YouTube (which I do watch a lot).

If anything, this fiasco teaches me to buy a streaming box from an uninterested third party like Roku. Amazon, Apple and Google can squabble. As long as Roku plays nice with all of them that's where my money would go.
