Like many others, when I read the title I thought you were going to write alternate endings. When I was about 15, I read The French Lieutenant's Woman, which I now only vaguely remember, but I'm certain that this had two "take your pick" endings, which I found frustrating. It broke the illusion that the book was in some way real and John Fowles knew the characters.
But I see that you don't mean that. I see nothing wrong with your intentions, personally I hate dangling plot lines and wondering "what happened to so and so?" as happens in so many soap dramas. On the other hand, I'm not so sure about your epilogue idea. About 20 years ago I read Anna Karenina; after the main action had concluded there was about 50 pages consisting of several men sitting round pontificating about politics, philosophy and religion. I was SO BORING! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I hope I'm not boring! Having problems with my laptop keyboard, bought a very cheap temporary replacement which is sitting on top of my laptop; it's weird to type on. Must take Lenny (my Lenovo Thinkpad) to my nice computer doctor! Have also ordered a mechanical keyboard from Amazon as my Christmas pressie to me! |
