How is that related to the post you quoted? That was someone suggesting using a large card in the external SD slot of an Aura H2O rather than breaking the waterproofing and replacing the internal card.

it relates to all the new Kobo models minus a external SD card slot and that's good enough for me.

if you want a larger card in any of them you would have to void your warranty while hoping it still worked when you put it back together.

poor practice.

Then you should have stated why you thought Kobo was lacking common sense.

And please, if you are going to go on that rant again, can you start a separate thread that I can easily ignore.

ignoring me is relatively easy unlike some who feel the need to comment on every thread/post.

As you are probably pointing at me when you say that, can you point to a post that I have made that is not on topic, or at least not a direct response to the post I quotes?

Note: This both this, and my previous two posts in the are direct responses to the posts you made and I quoted.

So, if we look at say, all the threads currently on the first page of the Kobo forum, then I have posted in all of them? Or posted response to every post in the them? Yes, I do post a lot. And you will see a string of threads with mine as the last post. But that's because of when I came into the forum on that day.

But, and this was my point, those posts are either on topic for the thread, or a direct response to the either the quoted post or the one immediately prior to my post. Those posts are usually answering a question, asking for more information to enable myself or someone else to answer a question or supplying more information that I consider pertinent to the thread. Occasionally, they are my feeble attempts to make a joke.

If what you are saying is that I comment on all your posts, again, not true. I actively avoid commenting on your posts as it is always a waste of time. Usually I just read them, roll my eyes and move on. But, occasionally, such as today, I give in to temptation. But, again, the post was a direct response to your post trying to find out what the point of your statement was. And if you'd actually had stated it in the post, then I could have just rolled my eyes and moved on.

the point of anything i put on here/statement will be challenged/wasted upon the pro Kobo bias amongst you.

keep on rolling them eyes and may i suggest you perhaps try to resist the temptation next time.

although i doubt very much that you will be able to manage it.

Yes, I have a pro-Kobo bias. Just as you have an anti-Kobo bias. And anything anyone says has to pass their personal bias and those of the listener. I acknowledge that. Do you?

If you would just give the context you intend for your statements like the one I asked about, I wouldn't need to comment.

But, maybe I should comment on the reason I responded to your original post.

When I first read your original post, I thought you were saying that Kobo lacked common sense by not putting an even larger internal storage in the device (the thread is about a 32GB device, and the post you quoted was about using a 128GB card). But, when I reread the post you quoted and those it referred to, I realised that wasn't what you meant. And I had absolutely no idea what particular thing you were referring to. Of course, if I'd thought about it for a few minutes, I might have realised you were raising your personal peeve and referring to the lack of an external SD card slot in the latest Kobo releases. But without knowledge of your posting history, how was anyone to know?

never mind you know now.

my original comment only needs a slight alteration.

it should read generally speaking common sense ideas are not Kobo's forte these days.

unlike some i don't have a Kobo bias, if it's something good i will say something (positive) if it's bad then (negative)

an example of something positive would be what i said recently about Kobo trying to make the latest Firmware releases work on older/all models which i genuinely think is a good thing.

I'll disagree that with you when you state you don't have an anti-Kobo bias. The fact that you occasionally say something good doesn't mean that your posting history is much more anti than pro.

But, if it is the case that you don't have an anti-Kobo bias, then, but the same token, I don't have a pro-Kobo bias. Please point to the evidence. And again, my post to you today was in no way a demonstration of a bias for or against Kobo. It was an attempt to find out what you were talking about.

Or is this claim of bias based on my habit of asking for more information? For asking people what they mean when they make vague statements? Or asking for more detail when they report a bug? Or correcting someone who states something doesn't work the problem was fixed many firmware versions before? Then yes, I'm guilty of all those things. It is a bad habit of mine to try and understand what other people are talking about. A very bad habit.

Or maybe the problem is that I can't be bothered making posts that are purely critical. I have stated what I don't like about Kobo devices plenty of times, but usually as part of something else.

Or is the problem simply that I don't agree with you on some things? Such as what is and isn't "common sense".

I thought the obvious solution for koboy would be to not purchase any kobo products. I had the kobo glo before the h2o. I made the active decision to purchase the h2o over the aura hd because of the sd card slot.

I seem to remember both the Aura HD and the Aura H2O have external uSD card slots. The H2O does have a better screen and the waterproofing in it's favour.

You are correct, I have both an Aura HD and Aura H2O and they both have a Micro SD slot.
The Resolution is the same on both screens I think.
