OK, you're on. $1 bet that on 14 Sep 2013 no commercial eBook store will be selling Sony's DRM-protected LRX eBook format . Obviously LRF files are going to be around because there are free tools for creating it.

Well, now you are changing what you said which was:

"I don't know what I'll be reading on in 5 years time, but I'm pretty confident that Mobi format will still be alive and well then. I'm not at all confident that Sony's BBeB format will be."

You didn't specify DRMed specifically. I would hope within 5 years NO ONE is selling DRMed of any format. But, that's (no DRM) not a bet I would make.
