If I thought I could get 'new' original nook with glowlight's (the ones with the grey border) I would. It's far better than everything I've tried since. Especially temperature resilience. I recently got the new metalic cased 'water resistant' nook glowlight and it is fairly terrible. It has an internal thermometer of some sort that makes it cut out in the cold, or in the hot, and then requires a hard reboot to start again. So for me the original Nook with glowlight is the best ereader I've yet had. Each one to come after it has lost just one more useful feature, Button's so it can be used in gloves, press on/off for the light, temperature reslience at low or high temps etc. |

I prefer Kobo's software. But if B&N were to bring back the design of the Simple Touch with Glowlight in a new device (with the high-res carta screen and waterproofing of the latest model, since I'm dreaming) I'd snap it up. |

I disliked the hardware of the nook STR. It is rather odd. The buttons take a lot of pressure to press.

Thanks! I have one of those and will give it a try. I have been using an old Kindle in a waterproof pouch. It works but is not ideal.
