I'm assuming that was a joke.

Although I have seen stuff like that back when I was commuting to work.

I didn't post about using the steering wheel, but I often do eat lunch sitting in my parked car so as to have some peace and quiet, and I put the reader on the steering wheel.

I'm right handed and feel more comfortable holding the reader with my right hand. The location of the page turn buttons on my Sony T1 doesn't work for me left-handed.

I use multiple devices and hold them one handed since there is typically a kitty requiring maintenance with the other hand. For my elderly Mom, I got her this stand. She was getting severe neck pain reading and this eliminated it.

It varies with the device due to size and weight.

With my K3, I almost invariably use it handheld and naked (the K3, not necessarily me). I'm left handed so I hold it in my right hand between thumb and finders, which leaves my left hand free for important stuff (coffee, eating dinner, coffee, popcorn, coffee, ...). The K3 is light and easy to hold for extended reading. Adding a cover would only add bulk and weight (both negatives). I have a zippered slip case for storage and transport.

With my Win 8 tablet (8" Dell Venue 8 Pro) I find hand holding somewhat uncomfortable due to its weight. Sometimes, like in a doctor's waiting room) I'll handhold it vertically, but most often I use it horizontally with the tablet sitting on a table or pillow arrangement when in bed. I have a cover which folds back to form an easel stand when horizontal. When used that way I do so with the book displayed in two columns. The folded back cover also functions as a grip when handholding is necessary.

When I am reading outside, I hold my H2O with 2 hands. When I am reading in bed, I have a tablet stand for the devices.

I sometimes use a cover and hold it in one hand.

I sometimes use a Kantek holder/stand. With the Story HD, I can turn it on its side and read lying down for my rsi. With the Kindle DX, the orientation sensor gets in the way of that.

Do you have your H20 in a case? Is it really that heavy to hold in one hand? I've got one coming in the mail this week

There was much about the H2O that I liked, but I couldn't find a comfortable hold for lengthy periods of reading - with or without a case. There is much love for the H2O, so that may just have been a particular to me.

I have an original Kobo case for my H2O. That's why it is quite heavy.
Don't worry. You will love the Kobo H2O as I do. It is really a nice piece of device.

I posted about propping my book on the steering wheel. I have kids, so I spend a lot of time sitting in the car, arriving a half hour or more early so that I can get a "good" spot while waiting for them to be released. And, not coincidentally, it's a relatively quiet and uninterruptible place for me read.

I bought this case for my H2O. It's very nice and light and sturdy. As for the H2O, it is NOT too heavy to hold with one hand with this case.

Thanks for the recommendation, I have purchased the original case for the H20 as it was heavily discounted at around $10 both by the seller form Japan. I'll try to purchase one if the case wouldn't be to my liking although I'm currently in Thailand so no Amazon access for me.

I bought the leather case for my Kobo Aura. I love the way it makes the device look, like a little hard cover book. But it is bulky and I don't like the various ways I have to hold the device now.

On the other hand, my wife knocked the reader out of my hands the other day while we were waiting for David Sedaris to come on stage. It fell into the row in front of us and landed on concrete and there's no damage. So I guess I'll figure out the most comfortable way possible to hold the thing.

I have found most people hold their readers in their non dominant hand. Makes sense. If you want to grab your coffee, change the tv channel (yes, I read while the tv is on and sometimes pay attention to both) or grab a pen /paper to make a note.
