If I had heard or read about the crazy battery bug earlier, I hadn´t bought the KA1!

Wow, that's nuts. Well if they do change the hardware I expect to be able to get a replacement.

You can order and Aura One from Chapters. It shows to be in stock.

Bought one today from a local dealer, which imported his stock from Japan and gave me a full 12 months guarantee.

Can't reject the lust for this device, especially after installing KSM08 and KOReader. The text flow function is simply great for reading technical pdf with lots of formulas and charts.

Take it, don't wait.

I'm aware of that, but I prefer to deal with Kobo directly. Besides, on the off chance they are working on things like the comfort light or the issue with the sleep cover, I don't mind waiting a little further. A blotchy comfort light would definitely bother me. And I'd like the official cover, if the issues get worked out!

I don't think the new stock will be any different. It's just that Kobo are out of stock and it will take a while to get new stock.

I've dealt with Chapters and I've had nothing but good service and from when I placed my order, I got it in 4 days plus because of the exchange rate (Chapters prices are in CAD) you will pay less for the A1.

I will think on it, but at least with Kobo, I can return things. Believe Chapters doesn't allow returns on Kobo readers.

Of course, the idea of paying less appeals....

I did call Chapters customer service line before I placed my order for the H2O and I asked if I was able to send it back if need be and they said yes I could.

I am glad I got the Aura One on day one of its release.

The Aura One is the best eReader I have used.

Don't wait, get the Aura One as soon it is available.

Kobo typically refresh their product line once a year, so you won't see any new announcement until later next year.

Wow, good advertisement.
I have replaced 3 kobo aura one in 2 months because of the battery and lightingh problems. I don't think it is the best e-reader. It could be the best e-reader, maybe in the future when they will solve the problems. However, i came back to my "old" Aura H2O; it's less awesome but i can read without the fear of battery drain

The battery issues were due to firmware issues that have been fixed.

Not true. Kobo replaced my reader because of the battery drain issue. The new reader does not have the problem. There is a hardware component. Unfortunately it still is unreliable with the sleep cover.

I still think that the H2O is pretty awesome. But I do like the ambient lighting on the KA1 and the extra real-estate.

Some people got told to wait for the new firmware to fix the battery drain and yes, that has fixed it. Could it be an issue with the sleep cover?
