Yes that is what I mean. My large number of personal documents are not shown within K4Pc on my Mac or Windows PC. Thanks AnemicOak.

Oooh, I see. I guess I have a blindspot there because I would never trust my library to a third party

What do you mean by that? Are you afraid that the third party will go away and you will lose your library? If so, I believe that most people also have their library stored on their computer in Calibre, and possibly other places as well. I know that my library is on my computer in Calibre, on Amazon, on One Drive, and on an external hard drive. Oh yeah...my computer is also backed up every night by Carbonite, so it's up there, as well.

That's exactly right. Many vendors have gone belly up already. Most people on MobilRead probably use Calibre (I am one of the heathens who don't) but everyone I know personally just trusts either Kobo or Amazon.

The benefit about personal documents in Amazon's cloud is that it will sync between devices, just like paid for content does. I don't believe anybody uploads their drm-free ebooks to Amazon as only place to store.

Exactly. Just as I use Apple's iCloud service to make all my PDF documents and my photograph collection available on my iPhone and two iPads. I don't rely on it as a storage mechanism, just as a file sharing mechanism.
