The bit about Apple at the end of the article really spoiled the entire article. The article is entitled The late 2008 E Ink Readers and Apple isn;t bringing out an eink based device. So why is that bit of nonsense in there? The iPhone/Touch are both LCD based. LCD is not eink. So please take that mess out of the article which was a good article up to the point where the last two paragraphs about Apple totally spoiled it. I am sick and tired of people comparing eink based readers with iPods. They are not iPods and never will be. So give it a rest. This is just another in the lone line of Apple is better then everyone else.

But in all seriousness, I have never read an Ebook on an Eink device, Dont seem to be able to buy one here in Australia at the right price. I have been reading Ebooks for over 8 years now. I first started on a Palm Pilot and progressed to Ipaqs and now to an Ipod Touch. The Ipod touch is great, very nice resolution, good size screen and a backlight. I can get 10 hours on the battery.
But the main reason I would never buy a Eink Device is that it wont go in my pocket and if I take it to bed with me it wont work if the lights out, which would upset my wife, who needs the light off.

I read on average 6 hours a day, and have never suffered any irritation using a small screen or backlight. Maybe a sore thumb from pressing a button ever three seconds. But in conclusion I am really happy with the touch for reading.

Cheers
You are my hero! Long live to light-off bed reading on a backlighted device!!!

You can now get a lightwedge for the 505 that allows frontlit reading.
