Well, I think the actual logic is self evident!

On the other hand, I've been reading Kindles for several years and I have not dropped one once.

I put my iPad in a case when it leaves the house and I find using it somewhat less pleasant.

Unless you are a complete klutz, or spend a lot of time reading whilst on an uncovered stone/concrete floor, you really don't need to use a case when a reader is in use.
