No. For me the Kobo is perfect as I have more variety in margin sizes and I can select my own fonts. No need to change the weight of the fonts I picked as I liked them as they were...

Why do I need a patch for that? I already have the advanced font controls that give me control of the weight in the stock firmware. What other advanced font controls would I get if I patched?

The patch allows the font controls to apply to sideloaded fonts as well as the built in fonts.

Another patch feature is you change the footer make it smaller and change the page number format. I have mine set to 0/000 instead of Page 0 of 000
