This thread reminds me of the ipod when it first came out. People were not satisfied with it as it was and had all kinds of suggestions and look at it now. I like the 505 just as it is, no bluetooth, no wifi. I bought my 505 for one thing only and that is to read.

A perfect bound paperback book can cost anywhere from $2.00 - $6.00 to produce (prep, print, bind) and that doesn't include transportation/shipping. This is for a run of about 20,000 books. More popular books that run in the 100K or more may be slightly cheaper but not much. It also depends on the publisher/printer. These are the prices for the print company I work for, the RR Donnelly's and Quebacor's could do it cheaper because they are the big boys of printing and have the buying power to get paper for less.
