I have the same problem as kobospice, with errors on trying to open library books transferred using ADE to my Kobo Aura. I have uninstalled, re-installed, authorised, de-authorised, you name it. Of the 5 books that I have borrowed from my library today, one still comes up with the Oops!... error. When in the ADE program 4.5.1 the books shows and opens in the Kobo, but when I "safely remove hardware" and try to open the book I get the Oops! message again for one of them. 4 of them after several tries open OK. BUT NOW I turned my Kobo Aura off and on again, and all the books have gone!!!grrrr!!!!

That last sentence is a common sign that the database on the device is corrupt. And I would guess that the other problems are related to this. Or at least the database needs to be checked and fixed before doing much else.

If you want to check the database, you can use an SQLite management too, or calibre plus my Kobo Utilities plugin. If it is corrupt, the fix is to sign out of the Kobo account on the device and then back in. This will generate a new database and load the sideloaded books. You will then need to reauthorise the device using ADE and load the library books again.

Thanks David. Since all the books were gone, I did a factory re-set, and then it wanted to re setup my Kobo like it was new. Luckily I was able to easily transfer the library books, and 2 purchased ones from ADE with no problems. I will remember about signing out and back in to Kobo for next time I have problems.
