I know I don't. First, because there is no garden fence, and second, because I get really annoyed when people tell tales about me ... so I refuse to gossip about others. So there.

I can tell it's going to be seriously hot for the next few days ... it's been in the high 80s even at night. I think what I will be doing is starting the trench out back of the house (so that what I'm doing can't be seen from the road). If anyone does see me and asks ... then I'm just planting land mines.

I said four years thinking that they might get faster at updating their images. I know that the image for my area is from May of 2002.

how on earth do you know the precise *month* ??? is there a calendar convenienly placed in the shot ??? were you able to zoom in tight enough to read someone's digital watch ???

all i can say is, the photo of my neighborhood is old, because several of the streets around here have been redone since it was taken and are much nicer, and my own street has been turned into a pedestrian zone (there are still cars on google maps). but *how* old... no idea.

The one for our location is also 'old' despite the legend suggesting it is a 2008 image...

The images come from DigitalGlobe...If you want a more up to date one at high resolution you have to pay - although I have seen a link to 'free' to date ones, but where I don't remember....

Some of the images have a date in the bottom portion of the frame. This is in addition to the copyright notices superimposed on the image itself. I believe the date because it is easy for me to determine based on the cars and color of the cars I see in my driveway and those next door.

Edit: I have added a clip of an area at the botton center to right showing the data date for my area.

ah yes, that would explain it. i've never noticed a date. and my golly, i don't pay anywhere near that much attention to the cars outside. all modern cars look alike to me anyway, with a few exceptions.

I've found the link I was looking for, but it's only UK - and it does have a reasonably to date image of our house etc...
