Book reviews for fiction - do you read them? What do you look for in a review?

I enjoy a book more if I can relate to the characters in some way and I usually hope to at least like someone in a book enough to care what happens to them.

That said, I've enjoyed books where neither of those was true.

Maybe reviewers who say things like that can't find anything else in the book worth talking about.
